This IPA is brewed in partnership with New Balance to celebrate the 40th anniversary of manufacturing at the New Balance Flimby Factory.
The beer is bright, tropical and citrussy with a heady mix of Vista, HBC586, Simcoe and Sabro hops, and indeed rain water collected from Flimby.
Extending outside of the liquid, Thom Hobson (DEYA artist) has also designed a one-off New Balance shoe.

A collaborative three way all English India Pale Ale configuration, constructed and brewed with the valorous DEYA BREW Co and BROOKHOUSE HOPS. Bringing into play the form and structure of the new world IPA alongside the historic roots of the English IPA tradition.

An elementary grist of blended Northumbrian base malt and traditional flaked barley permits a malt back springboard for a sizeable whole cone, 3 step hop addition into kettle using the finest BROOKHOUSE Goldings and Bramling Cross. A post boil steep with Admiral, English Chinook and Bramling Cross is then crowned with a subtle resinous dry hop using Phoenix and Chinook variations.

A juicy IPA featuring Citra in the hot side (whirlpool) and Idaho 7 and Simcoe in the dry hop. We've only used Idaho 7 a handful of times (most notably in My life In The Sunshine) - always exciting to be working with new hops!

We’re big fans of the beers that Theo and the team have been putting out for the last couple of years, and we’re excited to see what they get up to in 2020 in their brand new expanded brewhouse. It’s the perfect time of year to be brewing a big US-hopped DIPA as the 2019 harvest makes its way into European distribution. DEYA were keen to work with some newer varieties whilst they were as fresh as possible, so we decided to build the beer around Idaho 7, a late-maturing variety which is ripe with tropical fruit potential. We backed this up with Azacca, a hop which got us really excited last year with its ripe watermelon aroma, and rounded this juicy hop bill off with the first of our individually selected batch of Citra. This combined 28g/l dry hop sits over a base beer loaded with flaked oats and wheat, and is fermented with a new US strain perfect for producing super clean IPAs, that has a lightly fruity ester profile to complement, rather than overpower, the diverse array of aromas created by this stellar hop bill.
